Sight Seeing

We are traveling this weekend to the New York City area, my first ever visit to NYC after living 53 years on God’s green Earth.

This means I’ll be away from my workshop for a little while; and subsequently, no blog post. In the mean time, above is a cool video by Frank Howarth, the woodworker who I have been spending my allotted YouTube time with lately.

The project he tackles in the video is somewhat simple, but I like watching the construction process and contemplate what it would be like to work in such a bodacious workshop as his is.

Enjoy the video and your Memorial Day weekend.

During the week, I sell carpet and rugs for The Dixie Group. Weekends, you'll find me in my basement workshop making furniture.

  1. I love Frank’s videos and I get a sense that he enjoys making them just as much! It’s not all about the stop-motion though; I love the little touches, his narration and how he adds his own sound effects (like the nail gunning and clamp squeaks in this video).

    • I know what you mean. I also noticed those things. When he is stapling the back on I got a sense that he added those sounds. I have seen enough of his videos to recognize the same squeaking sound of his clamps. So as you say, he puts a lot into the videos. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
